Terms and Conditions for the UK ME/CFS specialist clinic
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern the use of the UK ME/CFS specialist clinic (“the Clinic,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) website and virtual consultation services. By booking an appointment or using our site, you agree to these terms in full.
2. Eligibility & Virtual Services
UK Residency: Our services are intended for residents of the United Kingdom. If you are accessing this from abroad, you must disclose your location.
Suitability: Virtual consultations are not suitable for emergencies. If you are experiencing chest pain, severe bleeding, or difficulty breathing, call 999 immediately.
Identity Verification: We require a valid form of photo ID and proof of address before your first consultation to comply with UK medical regulations.
Referral: We require a referral letter from your GP with your clinical information (Please see FAQ for information required).
3. Medical Disclaimers
Clinical Judgment: Our clinicians reserve the right to refuse treatment or a prescription if they believe a virtual setting is not clinically appropriate for your condition.
No Guarantee of Prescription: A consultation does not guarantee a prescription. Prescriptions are issued only at the doctor’s professional discretion.
External Labs/Referrals: Any fees for third-party blood tests or specialist referrals are not included in our consultation fee.
4. Appointments and Cancellations
Payment: Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your slot.
Cancellations: We require at least 2 weeks’ notice for a full refund. Cancellations made with less than 2 weeks’ notice will not be refunded.
Late Arrival: If you are more than 10 minutes late for your video link, the appointment may be cancelled without a refund.
5. Privacy and Data Protection (GDPR)
Your data is handled in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Consultations are conducted via secure, encrypted video platforms. We do not record video consultations without your explicit, written consent.
We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
6. Professional Regulation
All our doctors are registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and hold a valid licence to practise in the UK.
The clinic is regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). You may view our registration status on our homepage.
7. Complaints Procedure
We aim to provide the highest level of care. If you are dissatisfied, please contact admin@ukmecfsspecialist.co.uk. We follow a formal complaints procedure in line with CQC requirements and will acknowledge your complaint within 3 working days.
8. Limitation of Liability
The UK ME/CFS specialist clinic shall not be liable for any technical failures of your internet connection or hardware that prevent the consultation from taking place.
