Prescribing & Medication Policy
(For DVSP ltd trading under UK ME/CFS specialist clinic)
Clinical Discretion
A consultation does not guarantee a prescription. Prescriptions are issued only when our clinicians are satisfied that it is safe and clinically indicated.
Restricted Medications (Controlled Drugs)
We do not prescribe Schedule 2 or 3 Controlled Drugs via virtual consultation. This includes, but is not limited to:
Strong opioids (e.g., Morphine, Oxycodone, Tramadol).
Benzodiazepines (e.g., Diazepam, Lorazepam).
Gabapentinoids (e.g., Pregabalin, Gabapentin).
Stimulants for ADHD (unless part of a pre-agreed shared care plan with documented physical checks).
Online Prescribing Safety
GP Notification: For your safety, we strongly recommend that we share details of any medication we prescribe with your regular NHS GP. If you withhold consent to share this, our clinician may decline to prescribe if they feel they lack the full medical context to do so safely.
Maximum Supply: We generally limit prescriptions to a 30-day supply to ensure regular clinical review.
Electronic Delivery: Prescriptions are issued via secure electronic tokens (EPS) to a UK pharmacy of your choice. We do not issue paper prescriptions by post.
